These rules apply to the ooc portions of the forum and should be used in conjunction with the IC rules in the in character portions of the forum.
- No Spamming
This means stay on the topic of the thread that you are in. If you're talking about books then there shouldn't be posts in the thread about the time your cat brought you a dead mouse or anything. If you don't know what spam is and need more help with this please PM a staff memeber.
- Listen to Staff
If a staff member tells you to do something you should obey. If they tell you something that goes against the rules or Terms of Service however do not listen to them. If you disobey staff with no good reason [like they're asking for your password would be a good reason to disobey] then you could get a temporary ban.
- Be Kind and Respectful
Please show respect to all of the forum's members, not just staff. There is no fighting allowed on the forum, a friendly debate now and then is fine though. And don't just 'take it to Private Messages' because I don't want there to be fighting at all. Not only because it makes the forum look bad but because I want everyone to enjoy themselves here.
- Help Out
Just because you aren't staff doesn't mean tthat you can't help out around the forum. If you see a new member that is confused then you can talk to them in the cbox or send them a PM to help them understand something. Or if you're reading over a bio before a staff member sees it and you notice a few mistakes then you can tell the member so that by the time some one who can accept bios logs on it will be fixed. There are various things that you can do to help out around the forum.
- No Text Talk or Chat Speak
I would prefer that you don't talk like this all the time. I'm not saying that you can't post 'lol' or 'g2g' in your posts but if you "r cnstntly tlkn liek dis" then you should really take the time to type out the words. Not only does it only take a few moments more but it makes everything easier to read and keeps the members of the forum happy.
- No One-Word Posts
Do not reply with just one word at any time. If someone posts something and you just write back "cool" then you're really not adding anything to the conversation. This rule goes along with the no spamming rule as many people view one worded posts as spam. If you think something's cool you could reply with "Oh, yeah, that's really neat, too bad I wasn't there to see it" it's much more insightful than just saying cool.
- Stay Active
Please stay active on the forum. Even if you have no muse for role playing for a while try to find the time to come on and post in the OOC boards. There's plenty to do so you shouldn't ahve a problem making just one or two posts. If you have to be away for a while make sure that you post in the Good Bye? board so that everyone knows where you are.
- Don't Flame Members
This goes along with not fighting. Please, if some one makes a mistake, for example they post with just one word, don't yell at them for it. Just say something nicer like "hey, you might want to edit that, there's only one word" or something. There's no need to go aorund calling people no0bs or anything like that. Be forgiving okay.
- Have a Good Time
Okay, this sounds like a dumb rule but it really isn't. If you aren't having fun and constantly find yourself in conflicts with other members then please PM a staff member. If they can't help solve problems between the other members then maybe this isn't the community for you. I hate to say it, really I do, but I don't want you to be here and miserable.
- No Double Posts
Please refrain from double posting. If you realize that you forgot something in your post click the modify button to edit it. If you want to make sure poeple realize that you added it later just type [edit] or EDIT: before whatever you add. This keeps everything looking nicer and more organized than double posting.
