This small portion of forest grows in a valley caused by the movement of a glacier countless moons ago. From a distance the deep rift is hidden from view, giving the forest it's name.

There is a large lake in the middle of the tundra. Most of the year it it frozen with thick, solid ice, but in the summer and late spring the fresh water is an oasis of plant and animal life.

There is a portion of the tundra that is the main path for large migratory species like elk and so when they go through here there are wolves too, all cats beware.

The Mesa del Sol, or Mesa of the Sun, stands high above the rest of the flat lands. It is especially windy atop the mesa and has little prey. However standing on it there is an expansive view of much of the tibe lands.

Meadow of Ice
In the summer when there isn't as much snow this tundra turns into a meadow that is full of prey and lovely wild flowers. It doesn't snow too much in the winter, but it's freezing cold so the snow that there is doesn't melt until spring.
